I’m putting an Omega Geneve up for sale that came in a lot from a collectors estate sale. I bought the lot for two other watches and rather than leave this in a drawer I should let it go to a better home. I can’t say a whole lot about it so I tried to cover everything with a decent number of photos.

The case is 35mm with a lug width of 18mm, and seems to be in good condition (it’s how I would like it, a few dings and dents but original finish on the top and sharp corners/chamfers everywhere). Dial and hands are great condition and original. It sort of looks like there’s some dial discoloration in some of the pictures but that’s an effect of the sunburst finish. I think the crown is original, at least it’s an Omega signed crown. Not sure whether the crystal is or isn’t original, but there’s no Omega mark etched in the centre so I guess it’s probably not. The movement serial number 27379448 places it to 1968/69, and the movement seems to run well.

Having said that, I don’t know the service history of this watch and have never serviced it myself. It would therefore be a good idea for the new owner to have it serviced, especially if it’s going to be a daily wearer. It’s also has a little bit of dirt in the usual places, so even without a service it might be nice to get the case ultrasonically cleaned and the crystal polished.

I’ll wear it for the next 24 hours and post the time-keeping when I know them.

Bump and a drop to 450 euros.

And I’m sure it won’t bother anyone, but he strap is a bit old as the two keepers came off when I wore it for a day. So this is now for sale as head only.
