dsio just completed updating our version of MySQL. Unfortunately, it was necessary to do this immediately. There was 3 minutes of downtime, for those of you who noticed 😀

All forums now display 50 threads per page (as default) instead of 25. Enjoy 😉

All new registrations will now (temporarily) require manual approval from the ΩF admin team. There's a bunch of Russians trying their best to register a shitload of accounts and flood us with spam. Sorry for the inconvenience for anyone just signing up.

We've had two brief outages due to our upstream provider, they seem fixed now though, only lasted a couple of minutes each

Just updated Tapatalk plugin to the latest release (1.3). Should bring some bug-fixes.

You're welcome. Glad you're enjoying ΩF. 😀

Noticed I could use smileys from my iPhone with Safari now.
Yep. We're working on getting the editor functioning better on iOS and Android. It was never built for that sort of application, so it hasn't been easy. We've also recently updated the sales thread prefixes (FS, etc) and carried these over to ΩF1 from ΩF2.

Tablet support (7"+) will come first, then we're working our way down to smaller devices like phones. We'll always leave Tapatalk running as an option, but we'd really like it to not be necessary.

Yes, I echo Privateday7's appreciation. Thanks for the generous time and effort in making this forum running so smoothly! It's a great resource and meeting hole.

Nooooo, Tapatalk is the way I browse all my forums and I do the majority of it on my iPad. I used to surf WUS trad style on Safari but it was really unwieldy. I've only ever surfed OF once on Safari and have used Tapatalk ever since. Does Tapatalk adversely effect the server or something?

In some ways it does, usually resulting in posts hanging while submitting (this is now less frequent). There's also random server errors caused by their code.

Running Tapatalk also means that an external company (Quoord Systems - Shanghai and Hong Kong based) has access to ΩF data. Protecting membership privacy and security is a huge thing for us, so it's frustrating having to open up the doors just so their software can run. They very well might be a great company and people, but we're still not comfortable with it.

The aim is to ditch Tapa, but we're unlikely impose such a change unless the ΩF membership is in favour of it (and ΩF2 proves a worthy replacement for native apps on iOS and Android).

If you're interested, we can bring you in on some of our early testing to gather your feedback. It should start in 1-2 weeks.

I also predominantly use Tapatalk. Happy to be a bit of a guinea pig for iOS if you like.
