This is an edited version of my first post, which of course I placed in the wrong forum:

    Hello,

I am a new member and own a couple of Omegas. The one I need help with is the pictured ref. 165.067 Seamaster with a cal. 552 movement. I somehow lost the case back! I was on a recent trip to Alaska, and it would seem that is where the back got misplaced....it's totally a bizarre mystery. I found a back from one of my Elgins that screws right on, but I would really like to have a seahorse back that fits. Naturally I would prefer a 165.067 back, but since I am not selling the watch (maybe a trade though), I would buy any omega back that had the correct thread. The Elgin back has an OD thread of 30.9mm, so I would surmise that the Omega back is very close. I have already bought 4 backs off ebay, but the sellers misquoted the thread OD. The backs that I have bought that don't fit are: 166.002 threaded; 198.0056.170/398.0625.170 snap fit; 196.0088 snap fit; and 196.0209/396.0913 snap fit. These are all stainless and have embossed seahorses. They would be available for trade. I also have many interesting lesser stainless watches such as Bulova; Elgin; Benrus; Croton; etc that I would trade for a fitting case back.

I should mention that I noticed that the case back was missing after I had put the watch on, so it isn't running. A light blast of air from a bulb gets the balance running for 20-30 seconds, but the sweep won't move---so I likely need someone who can service it as well.

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to following the posts.
