Evening everyone, I have the blessing of my wife to purchase a Speedmaster, which I have wanted for a long time. Considering my budget, a birth year approach seems most appropriate (1984)…….so I have started my search for a serial 45XXXX variant to tick that box. I did come across one, price aside (high IMO, even with papers), my main concern with this model would be the caseback. Is this something anyone in the group has seen before, or is this associated with some 'oopsie' from the previous owner? Thanks for the look!!!
I think it was a protective wax or something they put on at the factory. Below is a forum members example of a constellation. I forget the members username but I saved the image as a reference.
