How much are original Omega Spring bars? Is there a big difference with the ones offered by Ofrei: http://www.ofrei.com/page1229.html#18372 to be used on a Speedmaster or Aquaterra. So they would be 20 mm x 2 mm.

    Thanks in advance.

I'm going to tack on another question about spring bars... Is there a "correct" spring bar for Omega bracelets (I specifically am wondering about the 1171/633)?

Omega ones are thicker and better, live a fair way from a Boutique and get them sent to me for a small fee.

Have had a few sent for free over the years. Give them a call

I’ve ordered mine from Ofrei here in the USA for a fair price.

    Edit:
Shit, scratch that. I realize now that I bought them years ago and Swatch has stopped supplying them :(

Call your closest boutique. There are different ones for straps and and bracelets. They will send them to you for free or nominal fee.

What’s the correct size for bracelet vs strap on a Speedy pro? Is it not 2 mm?

They both work for the other but the bracelet one is easier to take off and a tad thicker. The strap one is more secure.

$1 USD each from OB. They are excellent quality. There are 3 types: standard, NATO, and NATO curved.

When I needed a set of spring bars for my Speedy Pro, I swung by the OB and they just gave it to me for no charge. Must not be expensive to buy even if they charged you.

I just got word from an OB that there is no difference between the spring bars used for straps and bracelet. Furthermore the price is $1 per spring bar, which is very reasonable.

A few months ago, I bought a strap from the Las Vegas OB and the lady that sold it and switched the strap for me used my same spring bars. When I asked she said she couldn't give me any more. I was surprised, but assumed it to be the norm. Even though the watch was less than a year old.

A few weeks later I got a bunch for free ones from a London OB once I showed them mine weren't working correctly. I don't like going in and asking for stuff for free. Knowing this it will be easier to just ask for a dozen or so to keep in stock and pay for them outright.

Archer has posted part #s for the two different spring bars. I believe the ones for bracelets are slightly shorter, since the bracelets cannot be squished like a strap can to get the longer retractable pins out of the lugs.

Thanks for the heads up. Was able to find this post:

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/change-to-speedmaster-professional-bracelet.65896/#post-828127:

"Just FYI - the correct part number for the 1.8 mm diameter bracelet bars is 068ST2207, and for straps 068ST2208."

    And this one:

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/ok-...master-bond-bracelet-woes.79421/#post-1013393

    "Bars for bracelets - 2207 = 22.428 mm

    Bars for straps - 2208 = 23.317 mm

    Assumes 20 mm lugs."

I thought the 20 mm spring bars were 2 mm diameter, not 1.8 mm.

I trust @Archer more than a OB sales person, thus its surprising they are not well informed.

I was just at a major US OB. They said that when they sell spring bars they also expect to fit them to the watch. So they wanted to take my speedy from me. Given horror stories from members here about OB people gouging out lugs I was reticent to let them touch my watch.

I asked if they would just sell the spring bars (and I'd change the bracelet at home) and they said that they would make a one time exception but that in the future I'd have to call omega national service center and order the parts.

Given the experiences shared here I was pretty confused at the relative "pushback" I received. Next time I'll call ahead at a different OB...

@Archer do you have the equivalent part numbers for 18 mm for use on both the detachment clasps and the Speedmaster reduced(bracelet and strap)?

    Thanks in advanced.

I hear many posts about someone saying you can get X at the OB, but I've never had that experience. Any good source to get this spring bar for the OB price?
