Good everning after some advise. I have a 1974 constellation automatic and i have snapped the strap spring bar. I ordered one from ebay and its too thick i ordered a 18mm 1.8mm thick one. I dont have i clue how thick the original is, the strap has 1181/215 on it, but the only ones i can find with this number have solid links so I am not sure the clasp is the right one or not. Can any body advise me where to get a new spring bar from and is the clasp right? I would like to keep the watch original as it was my late fathers.

    Thanks in advance

That hinge doesn’t use a spring bar. The right part is often called a “rivet pin”. This is a stainless steel tube with two stainless steel “studs”, each of which is pressed into one end of the steel tube. In some instances, a stainless steel pin of the correct diameter and length is a friction fit in the hinge. But you probably know this now.

The spring bar you are missing is Omega part 068ST118910A.
