Spring Bar Assistance, please.

I have just bought an early Perex and want to fit it onto a Bonklip band I recently obtained. The watch had a broken Comfortflex which I bent to remove as I could not get the spring bars off.
As you can see below there is very little room to move, the bars rotate so must come off? Should I snip them and replace or leave well alone and 'bend' the Bonklip on?
Thanks for any advice.

If there's no steel bracelet, just get 2 nose pliers and bend the bars slowly inwards, but it's still a good idea to oil beforehand because sometimes the pins fuse into the case, if one breaks inside it's a harder task

Looking at the lower lug in the pic taken under the magnifying glass I'd almost think it might be a female bar with pins on the lugs.

Male, but I have no idea how they were squeezed in!

Does Peerex have any relation to Omega?

The only connection I am aware of is that I own both. 😀

Perhaps you could tell me how to move my post to the correct place? Thanks.👍

Easy to put in… but these made for drilled lugs are almost impossible to remove without cutting.

Not knowing the history of those spring-bars, I would remove them and install some good new ones. If necessary, I would cut them.

Cut them & get new ones.

Leaving those old corroded springbars on the watch is asking for trouble.

Thanks all, used a cutter and removed them with no problems. I then cleaned and put in new ones, AOK.

Cheers.
