Was playing a little one-on-one basketball with our youngest kid unit tonight at the local gymnasium...and I sprained my port side ankle pretty badly. I couldn't find anything handy at home to secure the ice bag...BAM...use the spiffy replica space man strap that came with the new Speedy Gonzales in the presentation box! Works great, lasts longtime!

I hope it's not bad as well...could be out for the rest of the road race/time trial season (I race bicycles on a local masters cycling team)...as well as be off work. Headed to the Doc tomorrow to get it checked out.

As soon as I saw the leg I knew, he's a MAMIL! (An Aussie term, Middle Aged Man In Lycra)

    :D

Here's hoping for a 'Speedie' recovery mate.

    Thanks, Jim.

I'm not too fond of the Lycra...feel sorta weird wearing it...but that's what our team as well as all the other teams are issued...and it's functional. Our team did receive a sponsorship from Dunkin' Donuts...so at least we have a cool logo to haul around.

Great idea for a new thread:
Things I Secure With My Speedmaster Velcro Space Strap.
(Hope all is well with the ankle!)

That is called initiative. This kind of thinking is what propels humankind forward.

The first Dunkin' Donuts just opened in Denmark and was closed imidiately by the authorities :D Apparently they didn't bother to use a refrigerator to store their food nor to chase away the rats :taunt:

Cool beans...thanks! It's a Rothco Commando recommended by Tom (VetPsychWars) from this forum. I purchased it to protect my new Speedy Gonzales at work where it can get dinged fairly easily. It's made of nylon and Velcro...has a flap to protect the bezel/crystal...comes in black, tan and sage green...and costs about $6. Below are some pics of the Rothco in different configurations hauling Speedy Gonzales around...

How strange - they've been doing that (successfully!) for decades here in the states. How sad that the Danes don't appreciate rat turds...

    Oh, you know it!

That was the plan...duct tape...didn't have any.

But then I had an epiphany...why not give the space man strap the old college try around the ankle...heck, I'll probably never wear it as a watch band. I actually attempted to wear the space man strap as a watch band when I initially received Speedy Gonzales...I followed the directions regarding doing the double loop around the wrist and everything...even saw the famous pic of Buzz Aldrin doing the double loop around the wrist. It appeared to work out OK for him. It didn't work out so well around the wrist for me...but it sure as heck worked around the ankle.

I am really waiting to see what you might do if you had appendicitis or gallstones. Now that would be the true test of the versatility of the Speedie....
