They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder and such seems to be the case with the out of production Omega Speedmaster Tintin. Even though the watch was only introduced at Baselworld 2013 and then cancelled after roughly one to two years of production (it depends who you ask), I thought it was a [鈥

Good read - again, thanks guys. 馃憤

Fun fact - I've been posting several pictures of my TinTin on instagram (@kovpics) with a #tintin hashtag and got several likes from @tintin.signe.herge - seems the community manager from Herg茅 shows more empathy to Omega's project than the Herg茅 family did 馃槜

Thought these were long gone but was able to get one from my local boutique on Friday. Thanks to your original article this watch stuck in the back of my mind until now.

I recently bought my first Speedmaster and went with the Moonwatch, but this variation is incredibly cool to me. I'm sure I'll end up with one eventually.

I traded one, new full kit, to a local reputable brick and motor shop near my home. He still has it in his case. If anybody wants to know the details, lmk.

I love the Tin Tin, and appreciate all the fans out there, but I'm sick of hearing about this watch's future collectibility. Aside form a few of the LEs, there are just too many modern Speedy pros out there. None of them will ever reach crazy prices like the 321s are.

I agree, buying jewelry for investment purposes is like buying ocean front property in Arizona.

I just can't get excited about it. I've strapped it on, but just not for me. Wish I knew more about the cartoon. But next is the moon watch, then a Skylab, or some real actual mission watch..... or the medorite speedy.

I am the same way, always wanted a speedy but just couldn't get a good feeling about it until I saw the Tintin a couple of years ago. My boutique had one and I waited to long and it was gone, I purchased a seamaster master coax and kind of forgot about it. Last week I began the search for a new watch and went too the boutique and it was brought to my attention they could get there hands on a Titin and it was a done deal.

Agreed here. I think the main draw for me is the idea of heading into my office and having to decide which Speedy I want to wear. The Moonwatch is great, but sometimes I could imagine wanting something with a bit more flash. Also I think its a truly omega thing for the subtle dial change to be considered "flash" vs. some of the things that other watch brands produce.

If you haven't seen the Tin Tin dial in person you should try. It to me, was way cooler in person then in any photo. There is a depth to it that can't be photographed.

Wish I could actually go to an OD and see the watch before ordering.. But reading this threat and looking through many google results, I feel confident in buying.. 馃憤
If not.. Well, still a speedy 馃槜

I actually re-read this article before going to purchase a Tin Tin yesterday at an Omega Boutique. love Speedys and have been looking for a Tin Tin for a while, last week I finally found one available through their network on the bracelet and picked it up yesterday. This is a great looking Speedy, especially for a non SE or LE. It looks much better in person than it did to me in photos. If you take a loop to it you can see the red/white on the face is hand painted and the red lines are slightly lower than the white to make a simple but attractive pattern. The price was good and I added a couple NATO straps to switch it up with. I own several fun pieces including a few awesome Speedmaster Pros but I expect this watch to hold a steady spot in my rotation.

I hope you are going to enjoy this watch. I wear mine daily. Gonna switch it up with a brown leather strap or maybe a NATO someday soon. Please report back when you get the chance to ret out the NATO straps 馃榾

Just curious, do we know if the red and white checkered flag was really hand painted or was it actually printed on?

Actually there are teams of Swiss Elves that do that kind of fine paint work.
