If you are a regular reader of our Speedy Tuesday publications, you know that there are quite a number of variations on the Omega Speedmaster watch. The Omega Speedmaster FOiS was initially introduced in 2012 as a 40th anniversary numbered edition model, to commemorate the fact that astronaut Wally Schirra wore an Omega Speedmaster (CK2998) in 1962 during his Sigma 7 flight. The 2012 stainless steel Omega Speedmaster FOiS has - compared to the normal Omega Speedmaster Professional - a smaller case (39.7mm), lack of […]

^^^ AU$20k on a strict exchange rate with the CHF.
I bet it'll be a lot more in the Aussie Boutiques 🙁

I do like it but not sure if the black ring on the dial shouldn't be right out at the edge.

I'm going to play the contrarian and say I don't like the look of it. I'm not a big gold guy though which probably has something to do with it, but generally, it just seems too busy.

This is how different tastes can be [emoji41] For me the standard speedy is just too bland looking.

I had a chance to see and touch that beauty during an Omega event few days ago. I can tell you it's one of the most beautiful Omega I've ever seen. It's close to perfection. Size / weight is great for a gold watch, the "Brown panda" dial is stunning, What's strking is that this Speed does look like a brand new watch and not the gold version of the Shirra. I have the FOIS and this one is so different. A must have, with a price tag which is not so crazy.

A nice watch. Probably not for purists or moonwatch history lovers... But anyway, I think this demonstrates the speedy is a great platform to develop new models.

It's also a great platform for Omega to move from your pocket to theirs.
