But this is not chronological. That is numerical. As the name states chronological has something to do with time not numers.
We had this confusion with ST1 already 😗.

Yes, I misstated that I suppose. Hopefully, stating chronological by LE number and stating that lower numbers would be sent first (or whatever I stated exactly) was understood by most. RJB said it's by LE number but I'm sure there is some flexibility to that based on shipping the watches in batches by region.

Maybe there should be a bracelet

RJB has said many times he prefers Speedys on straps and since he is collaborating on these with Omega it's probably safe to say they won't ever come with a bracelet. In the FB group, this topic has come up several times.

Is a strange one for sure, as you mention RJB seems to prefer bracelets, but he did also mention it was a design choice to have strap and NATO insteas of bracelet rather than anything to do with cost. I would bet that 90% of folks that ordered would have preferred a bracelet, not that it matters as it isn't our choice. At least the strap looks nicer than the one that came with the ST1, same goes for the NATO design.

My bad! Gah! I meant to say RJB prefers Speedys on straps and now that I think about he it doesn't like the modern Speedy bracelet and prefers the period correct ones of the 60s and 70s. I'll edit my post.

I agree with you about the ST1 strap. I don't find it very nice at all and have only worn on it on that strap for a day or two. I do like the NATO it came with though. I find the contrast striking and nice. It's a bold look and IMHO quite nice. I hope the ST2 strap is nice and worth wearing. RJB says it's even nicer in person. I like the look of the ST2 NATO as well but I'd prefer a bracelet on this watch too. It would be interesting to create a poll and see what collectors and fans would prefer.

In having a modern bracelet on a modern speedmaster I already have one.

Me too. But it would be nice to have some sort of vintage-inspired modern bracelet on the ST2 and ST1 or if they are going the route of straps and NATOs to perhaps reduce the price accordingly. Or maybe a Cordura strap like on the Silver Snoopy. I can see why some folks feel that for the cost of the ST2 there should be a bracelet. But given the manufacturing changes needed for the additional details such as the DON bezel, the new chrono hand and running seconds hand, the step dial, etc. that there is additional expense there especially given the small production run.

Thing is, we don’t know everything else Omega have in the product pipeline. I also would like a 1171 style bracelet but maybe that’s planned for 1 of the 15 new LE’s coming next year?

Happened to swing by the Omega Boutique I have my ST2 Reservation with and ask them to check on any updates and he showed me the actual list for the store, i’m 4th on the list but the first 3 people are in phase 1 delivery which is August 24th. Unfortunately even though i’m 4th on the list at that store i’m in the next group which they don’t have a date for yet. I’m in the 03xx range. I take it to mean the first phase of watches being made available on August 24th are from 0000-0300 range. They also asked if i wanted to expedite the process by putting down my deposit right then and there (Basically full amount)

I am not really sure why so many think a metal bracelet would have been more appropriate. With Ultraman being made out of a special alloy whose composition is only known to a few, the chances of either his arm or the bracelet corroding due to the contact of two dissimilar metals is a real concern -- especially since he gets wet pretty often. Either the bracelet corrodes through and Ultraman's $7k USD #ST hits the concrete sidewalk face-down, or his wrist corrodes through, his hand falls off, and then the #ST hits the concrete sidewalk face-down. Either way, same result. Strap and/ or NATO seems like a no-brainer...

Sounds like Omega should have brought it out on rubber. 😁

If Omega put the ST2 on a bracelet it would no doubt be stainless steel which is fairly corrosion resistant. And we've seen Ultraman wet and he didn't corrode. Granted he can only stay that way for 3 minutes. As for putting two different alloy compounds on top of one another, that does not necessarily mean there will be a chemical reaction causing corrosion or worse wholesale decomposition of the materials.

I think the bigger problem here is that Ultraman gets much larger and would either burst the bracelet in growth and send the ST2 face down on the ground (which is hopefully soft earth) or the bracelet would not give and his appendage would suffer. Then he'd be fighting one-handed! And his $7K ST2 would end up face down on the ground.

Perhaps it's best for him to wear it on one of those old-school stretchy bracelets so it can expand to fit.

Hmm, Omega and RJ needed an OF brains trust to deal with these issues. What about a little spandex/lycra strap in silver - it stretches, unaffected by water, perfectly matches the Ultraman suit and it's a genuine "NEW" innovation to appease those Speedmaster LE doubters??

I was on the waiting list for the ST1 and if I recall correctly it was at least a month or so after the official release that I put myself on the waiting list. I was able to get a watch because of the 13 reserved and scheduled for pickup at the Atlanta, GA USA OB 2 were not picked up. One person didn't realize the watch would cost that much and the other person never responded to emails and calls. I was next on the list in the Atlanta area so I got my choice of the two left remaining.

So, the process the watches will be offered to those on the waiting list who are next in line overall if the watch is canceled before delivery. If the watch is not picked up after delivery it goes to the next in line in the area it was delivered.

What part of the world are you in?

I'm located in Singapore, and was put on the waiting list 25th of July 😲

Omega will still happily sell you an 1171/1 afaik....

Now that ST1 has reintroduced the AML and medium S dial script, and flat foot crown.... and ST2 has reintroduced the DON bezel.... here's hoping whatever the next Speedy Tuesday is, it reintroduces a vintage-style flat link / stretch link bracelet, that's thinner & lighter than the Trilogy item. (Which is a great bracelet in its own right but def too thick)

Omega still sells the 1171/1 with 633 end links. I think it's pretty expensive though. I asked about it at the OB earlier this year and I think it is $700 USD. That's too rich for my blood, especially for hollow links.

I'd love to see them release a 1450 style bracelet which I know isn't period correct but I think it looks killer. Or maybe a 1171/633 with sold links and SEL.

It seems I'm the odd man out in that I like a bit of heft to my watch and bracelet. I'm not a small guy though so maybe that's why.

I would have settled for a deployant like the silver snoopy.

Me too. I purchased the Silver Snoopy strap and deployant to wear on my ST1 and it's super comfy and looks killer. I'm not sure if this factored in or not but I do recall hearing RJB mention he is not a fan of the current Omega deployant clasps. So, that may never happen on an ST LE either.
