I don't think anyone has received that call yet as far as I'm aware

I got yesterday an email from Raynald (CEO) saying:

"Dear XX,

I would like to personally congratulate you on your successful reservation of the number 27X of the Speedy Tuesday Ultraman Limited Edition. I am very pleased about your order and assure you that we will do our very best to deliver this watch as soon as possible.

Have a great summer!

Best personal regards,

Raynald"

My colleague and I both order one online. But yesterday he decided he didn’t want to go through anymore, sent a email to cancel it. If anyone is interested, should contact that store. Oxford street London store. Hope it has helped someone.

I don’t think it works like that. Pretty sure the number goes into the worldwide pool and the next on the reservation list gets it. If that is not the way it works, some people are going to be mighty pissed off for a second time.

I did not receive this email. And also I hope that it won’t be chronogically based on confirmation time since mine was 40mins in . I hope it’s by number as I was randomly assigned a number in the 300s.

I assume all watches are produced in one run. Not sure how many days this will take but certainly can only take very few days given Omega's output capacity. I was informed last week by an Omega insider (can't share his name but trust me he knows) production is actually ongoing. He said deliveries will start in August and can last up to November. So probably little more than 2 months to ship everything out worldwide. Still quite a long period for only 2000 watches imho.

Thanks for all the comments about ST#2 vs. 1957 battle! it's interesting, I thought more people would prefer 1957....I don't know frankly which I like the best - would like to buy 2 of them but it not going to happen when I look at my bank account 😝

decisions, decisions...
Sell one of the kids. It's an easy choice.

if you would have a choice and option to buy only 1, which one would you buy? ST#2 or 1957 edition? assuming you are an owner of ST#1 😉

1957 is a must

i would definately go for 1957! i do not see any legacy behind any of ST pieces.

I’m told that ST#1 was inspired by and descended from Alaska Project and ST#2 from historically rare Ultraman watch....

Seems like that but if same criteria applied all Moonwatches have something in common with said pieces. While same might not be said concerning Speedmaster 60th!

Late? It took 114 minutes for all watches to be reserved. You got yours reserved in the first 16. That's not late.

You are correct. The OB won't have any say in the watch. It's not in their stock and it's not guaranteed to them. Once canceled it will go back to the worldwide pool and whoever is next in line will get a notification that they are a lucky winner. Now, if the watch had been delivered to the OB and not purchased (person with the reservation either no-showed or decided they didn't want to purchase it) then the OB would be able to go to the waiting list for their region and select the next in line. That's how I got my ST1.

What constitutes a "better/similar number"? 😀

it took about 20 minutes for all watches to be reserved ! I finished my 1. reservation in minute 17 and about 5 minutes later my second try has been useless....... reservations finished.

That is incorrect. Omega officially stated that it took 1 hour 53 minutes and 17 seconds. I confirmed my reservation at 38 minutes in. At just a few minutes in I had been getting notices on the website that all numbers were reserved but because I was following the FB group religiously I knew people were still getting a watch reserved so I just kept hitting refresh and I was able to get through to a number and then when things froze on me I kept doing the same and was able to reserve an ST2.

I believe that the 114 minute timing was due to the additional confirmation via email - all the watches were spoken for in less than 30 minutes, but you had up to an hour to actually confirm the reservation in the email from Omega. So, even though all reservations weren’t “confirmed”, there weren’t any watches available much sooner than 114 minutes.

I was following the FB group and knew a confirmation email was to come so I was hitting refresh on my email to make sure I jumped on it immediately. I got my reservation at 37 minutes in and I know from following the FB group there were others getting their reservation well after an hour in. Maybe that was due to others not confirming their reservation in an hour but still, there were people getting them.
