as much as we know him for his speedmaster world, he still had a vast knowledge of other brands and in particular anything with a Lemania 5100 inside. I had several telephone(!) conversations when I was first starting this $imple collecting hobby about heuer, Fortis, Sinn chronos long before my first wind-up speedmaster. I agree with the sentiment for a Speedy Tuesday edition but would wonder/argue about what movement they would put inside....

Nice tribute and a reminder of times gone when getting "inside" information was done writing letters to NASA astronauts, or via the readers' corner in specialised magazines, seeing Your answer 6 months later... Next year my first Speedmaster will be 25 years at my wrist ;)

Can't say enough good things about Chuck. I've kept all my emails from him. He was a wealth of knowledge, was always willing to share, and had an incredible enthusiasm and patience for the most arcane details. Wish he was still with us...
