Almost a month ago, I told you about the upcoming Moonwatch Only 2nd edition (60 years of Omega Speedmaster). During the annual trade show in Basel, I received a signed copy of this 2nd edition of what I quoted as ‘this book sets a new standard’ in 2014. Let’s have a look at this Moonwatch […] Visit Fratello Watches to read the full article.
Curious to find out if we'll get any wiser on the correct number of Speedmaster chronographs issued to NASA in 1965, 1968, 1978 and 1990
Yes it was $207, 4 days ago, so it might make sense to order now and track for potential refunds if it goes any lower.
Does this version still have the paper-printed cover wrapped around a blank hardcover or is this a proper hardcover now?
It's always been a "proper hardcover". If you take off the paper cover on the 2014 edition, the book has very similar (identical?) printing as the cover. I bought a library-grade plastic cover protector for mine.
Superb updated edition, a bit disappointed about the NASA chapter but I certainly enjoyed chapter 4 (Personalized Models and Special Projects), Chapter 5 (The Alaska Project) and Part 4 ( 60 years of innovation )... Great work ! Maybe, a single overall practical remark, the book counts 562 pages and new updates could get it into 575 pages, just doable, but any larger it would be convenient to produce it in a hardcover sleeve, as two hardcover books, one with the intro and information chapters, one with the Speedmaster models... easier for those of us who consult the book on a daily basis http://www.moonwatchonly.com/the-book/
How did you find it? I am almost checking that out every evening and so far just once i had the chance and price was over 260 eur.
Luck is never stupid... i guess what might not be achieved by mere luck needs me being more persistent.
Seems the Brits are getting screwed on prices (again). Every time I've browsed for the book it's been £260+. Just ordered one through ebay at £185. There's one left on there at that price.
