Recently acquired this 42mm Speedy Pro Moonphase, sometimes inaccurately referred to as the Broad Arrow...a model I've long fancied. Came as a full kit, box, papers, the works. Being the 'Pro' series, it is not the automatic version but instead the Cal. 1866 classic manual-winder -- essentially an 1861 modified to accommodate both date and moonphase functions absent in the legendary Moon Watch. Same form factor as the Speedy Moon. A nice touch is the solid 18K white gold tachy bezel, and also the stunning blued surfaces of the broad arrow hands/indices and the eggshell dial. They reflect different sources of light by casting colourful varients of blue and beige. Sold by Omega in the early to mid-2000's only, so these don't come up for resale as often as other Speedy models. Solid mechanical piece with great, if not understated, wrist presence, equally at home with a business suit or jeans.

Thanks very much for the technical clarification. Whatever we call it, however, I think we can agree it's indeed a beauty.

Looks like yours is in great condition, congrats:thumbsup:

In my opinion this is one of the most underappreciated models. The dial, hands and indices are amazing. Here is mine:

Agree with Adamsm. This IS an 'underappreciated' model, when you consider: (1) Speedmaster Moon's classic cal. 1861-based engine; (2) Stunning eggshell full-function dial; (3) Broad arrow hands and bezel reminiscent of the very first Speedmaster Pre-Moon circa 1957 (see picture below); (4) Color scheme that pops; and (5) Original 'Pro' form-factor of 42mm which I, for one, consider the ideal size, though others might argue.

The original form factor was actually 38.5mm, it went to 42mm when they developed the Pro, the dial stayed the same size throughout. It's not the only time they have used this design scheme. Here is a similar interpretation, here using the 3313 movement though I agree yours is nicer:

Absolutely stunning model. Sporty elegance only Omega has managed to create. I'm partial to bracelets, however that strap exudes class. Beauty!

I like it. It came with both options, I have one, originally on the bracelet but prefer it on a navy blue Omega croc. It is superficially similar to the white dial SpeedyMoon but in fact the dial has several different finishes of silver so up close is rather different and not in fact white. Its also near impossible to photograph well!:

I love this model. As stated above, the pop of the dial helped sell me on it. Now to set the date for leap year..

looks great. Is the case thickness the same as a standard 1861 speedy pro ?

The 3575.20 (1863) is 14.3 mm and the standard speedmaster professional (1861) is 13 mm. I cannot tell the difference in reality, but some might be able to tell.

I'm seriously thinking of picking one of these up this year. However, many of the ones I'm looking at online have a lot of wear on the bezel. Do owners find that this bezel is less resilient than other Speedmaster bezels?

My understanding is the bezel is white gold, so that may explain the amount of wear. I do not wear mine daily, so any wear pattern would be reduced compared to a watch worn daily. Recent photo from yesterday showing a little lume.
