Here's another one I was keeping an eye on - a single poor photo and a one line description "A boxed OMEGA SPEEDMASTER GENTS WRIST WATCH" https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...0064/lot-84fad6f2-2049-426b-8b7f-a86d0070154f I asked the auctioneer for more detail, eventually they phoned me back in surprise when I told them it would sell for £2k so they should really try harder for their commission. They had, it seems, arranged for the watch to be opened and photographed... That looks to me like a early/mid 1980s 145.022 (as the case back confirms, there's no -78 etc), on a 1171/633 bracelet but likely with a later replacement bezel. Hammered at £2,800, so with commission that's £3,405 / €3,920 / $4,850 plus delivery. I'm sure it's very pleasant and everything, but that's a hill of beans for a relatively unremarkable watch that's not quite correct and has no (disclosed) known service history. Took me ages (and lots more effort) to sell a much nicer (with correct bezel), freshly Simon Freese serviced -74 last summer. https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedmaster-145-022-74-serviced-1171-633-bracelet-£2800.59952/#post-750931 Life's just not fair
