He is selling it on ebay so I contacted him directly and he reduced the price to more inline guide prices.

That's how he screws you - you have no buyer's protection outside of eBay. That's EXACTLY how he operates. Don't be taken in by the condition because it's a frankenwatch.

FWIW, you really don't see many Franken 145.022-69 Speedies (yet) because they are so plentiful. Perhaps the bezel or bracelet was added to make the watch more correct but the guts, movement #, dial, case are generally original.

That being said, because the reference is widely available, why take a chance on a seller who lacks integrity?

 

Don't be tempted at ANY price. A crooked dealer needs to be put out of business.

Unfortunately majority of watches for sale on the OF are located in the US. Import duty to UK is a killer. Might be a good thing or I'd already be on a 2nd watch box
