Hi all, I was recently presented with an opportunity to purchase the above reference Speedy. I have wanted to get one for a while now, but I want to get the feedback from the forum to see what you all think, and to ask what a reasonable price would be for the piece. I have not had price discussions for this watch, but I know the seller, and have had fair transactions with him in the past for other pieces. I'm working on getting a movement picture from him, but the rest of the pics are seen below. Please offer your feedback as you see fit, and thank you all in advance for taking the time to respond. Sincerely, Rick Watch info provided by the seller... Brand and Model: Omega Speedmaster Reference: 145.022-71 ST Case: Stainless steel - Showing signs of daily use but overall in great shape Bezel: Stainless steel with black aluminum bezel insert Strap: Omega Stainless Dial: Original black stepped professional dial in great condition as is the tritium. The 71 was the last of the stepped dials until 74. Crystal: Omega hesalite Case Diameter: 42mm Movement: Cal 861 Serial dating it to 1973 (32m) Case Back: Standard 'Flight Qualified' Moonwatch
Bezel is a modern replacement. Bracelet seems to be a service 1171. Other than that the rest looks good and honest.
Modern bezel, modern service bracelet & endlinks. Nice dial patina, correct caseback with tall 'W' and short tail 'Q'. Case looks nice.
Interesting to see they have ripped my text from my 71 listing on here, practically word for word https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-speedmaster-professional-145-022-71-st.52955/ If he will steal the text there is a high chance he might not even have the watch or even be using someone else pics too!
Yes, that appears to be copied and pasted. I have worked with the seller previously, without issue. Not interested in finding trouble now though. I agree it's a red flag
That all being said, would anyone care to offer up some guidance on a fair price for the watch. Assuming that the watch is his and available for purchase.
A couple just sold here in the forum in the past few days, that should provide you with a good proxy. What is he asking?
The dial looks damaged and refinished on the right subregister(hope my english make sense). Could be the pictures that makes it but dont part with your money until you have seen the dial in real life if possible.
No, I didn't. I may still in the future, but not just now. I thought I should give the sales department here a better look over before making a purchase from someone outside the forum.
