    Hi again dear aficionados

I am looking at a speedy ref 145.0022 with 861, there is a double reference in the case with 345.0022 what does this mean?

    Thanks again for help :)

A leading 3 usually means that the watch came on a metal bracelet. You see it a lot on the integrated bracelet models but I have seen it applied to normal models too. Here they have put both to hedge their bets. I have no idea of any Speedmaster specific meaning, it could for instance represent a service replacement caseback or even full case but I will leave this to others to refute this suggestion or offer another.

Thanks for the quick Response, I was wondering why two refs are shown, at least it looks like original.
Is there any input on the package, it ist in nice condition, but aus I am more Conny experienced, a Speedmaster check would let me feel a bit better :)

Not really my field but looking at the pics the serial looks much too recent to be right for 861 movement. In my experience, the 77.74m serial on a Speedmaster would be circa 2010 give or take a couple of years and would have a S-L dial and 1861 movement. If the dial is tritium or the movement 861 then walk away since the serial and parts don't match. If it is all straight then you may be fine but bear in mind it is a recent 3570.50 model so nothing special and if you choose to buy a bracelet further down the line you will need to put up around £400-600 so it may be better to get one up front ie buy an example on the bracelet.

861's did not come in rhodium finish that I have ever seen, so that is an 1861 in the photo...

Hi all, Thanks again for the quick response, everything what was mentioned was right, visited the seller and it's a 1861. So I left it there.

Like archer said, its an 1861 movement. Probably meant for a display caseback.

No - that's for a solid case back model. Display case backs are used with Cal. 1863 movements.

According to MWO, the refs 345.0022 and 145.0022 were used concurrently with PIC 3590.50 and 3890.50 respectively from '88 to '97. 345 was for bracelet and 145 was for leather strap. This was abandoned after '97 and all were then ref 145.0022 regardless of bracelet or strap (just like '80's vintage were). The dual numbering on the cases was common after '94 and continued even after ref 345.0022 was no longer used. The dual numbering is MWO case back style C6. Your Speedy must be 3570.50 since it has Rhodium plated 1861 movement; it would have a C6 style case back.
