Hi guys! I'm looking for a new Omega Speedster Professional. Here in Italy I found a 311.30.42.30.01.005 for 3500€, but I was also looking to find a better deal and go with the 3570.50 ... just in case I find one... What are the main differences between the two Omega Speedster Professional 311.30.42.30.01.005 and 3570.50 ? Do you think it could be a good deal to buy the 3570.50 if I find one with a significant difference in price compared to 311.30.42.30.01.005 ? What could be a good price for 3570.50? Thank you !
They are basically the same watches. 311.30.42.30.01.005 is the current production, 3570.50 is no longer available from Omega. The main difference between the two is that the current model comes in a huge box with extras like a nato strap, bracelet tool, velcro strap, loupe, extra spring bars, speedmaster booklet. 311.30.42.30.01.005 has hesalite, 311.30.42.30.01.006 has sapphire crystal.
311.30.42.30.01.005 includes the new box and accessories mentioned above and a newer bracelet with screws instead of pins for adjusting links.
Others above have mentioned the small differences between the two references but I would keep looking for a better price. Here in the US I have seen many examples of both references listed for sale with all the boxes and accessories for around $3000, which would be about 2100€ I believe.
Well, at the moment 3500€ is about $4000; but when you say $3000, do you mean price without taxes or tax included ? Because here 3500€ is final price tax included.
3500€ for a new 311.30.42.30.01.005 is not a bad price I think. The retail price for this model is around 4000€.
I just took delivery of a '.005, with the massive box, inner case and accessories (see photos). Very happy with the investment. Have had a 3570 in the dim and distant past. Had to sell for reasons of marriage. Balance has now been restored to my collection. Got the Moonwatch Only book too. Speedy Bank Holiday weekend for me....I can dream!
I have a 311.30 The big box is cool, as is the book you get. However, I only use the steel strap, and so everything else lives in the big cardboard shipping box in a cupboard.
I know what you mean, I am a bit of a strap swapper, as the mood takes me. So I will get the use out of, at least, the NATO one too.
I had a choice between this and the FOIS model. Having had a couple for Moonwatches in the past, I was bringing an old friend back into my collection. However, did I make the right call...what to you think?
I also prefer the bracelet. However, mine is currently on a NATO. Not on the one that came in the box but a different black Omega one with smooth leather lining. I think the FOIS is also a good choice and a very nice watch, I would like to add that to the collection in the future too.
If you like it, then you made the right call. I would be torn between them both as well. The 311.30 is The Moonwatch. That has its own charm. The FOIS with the straight lugs, Applied Metal Logo (especially like that!), distinctive case back and symmetric case is also Very Desirable. I think the polished hands could disappear against the black dial in some viewing conditions. If we're lucky enough, there could be a place for both in the collection. If I had to choose one, it would take a long time to choose but probably land on the FOIS.
