I tried searching to see if this has been posted before and I couldn't find it, so my apologies if it's been posted already. I thought this was short and interesting and super nerdy. I heard about this video from the Two Broke Watch Snobs podcast.
If I was an astronaut I would tell them I don't want the X-33. I asked to be fitted with an Ed White. Cool video.
I suppose dust isn't as much of "the enemy" in zero G either. I personally found the tape very clever
I’ve been looking at the old threads. Sort of fun to see what was important a few years back (e.g., white side of the moon).
Probably the best "hack" repair I have ever seen!! In any case, I will state again how great the X-33 watch is. It has been enjoying quite some wrist time since I got mine.
The battery kind of shot away from the guy doing the video. He kind of minimizes the issue with small parts. What happens in the space station when tiny parts, accumulated from years of one or two getting loose, start floating around? Seems like it could be a problem. Seems a standard springbar could be even more dangerous than it is back here on terra firma.
