I was taking my lemania to watchmaker for service and find out that he have two speedmasters in shop.
Because I dont have any modern automatic I decide to buy one, but dont know about those calibers anything so help needed.
Other 1164 and other 3304 so is there anything I need to know about those?
Thank you
Ari

They are both "Speedmaster Reduced" versions. They are popular but not very interesting from a collector's points of view, or mechanically.

It also looks like they are brand new.

My suggston is that if you want a Speedmaster, get a proper Moonwatch version. If you want a modern automatic, have a look at the modern Seamaster ranges. Virtually any automatic Seamaster from the last 15 years will do a great job.

Unlike the 3301, 3303, and 3313, which are all based on an F. Piguet chronograph movement, the 3304 is the odd man out in this series and is based on the ETA 7750.

Since both the 3304 and 1164 are an ETA 7750 base, any reasonably competent watchmaker can service these. Both should be accurate and give you years of use if properly cared for. The choice is down to what you like the looks of the most really.

Cheers, Al

Looks like we were replying at the same time. Actually they are not "reduced" models, but "date" models. These use fully integrated chronograph movements, where the "reduced" model uses a modular chronograph with an ETA 2892 base, and a chronograph module placed on top. Big difference and I would not want the reduced models because of servicing issues, but the date models are fine and are typically very good performers.

Thanks...
I am looking watch for daily use , one that i dont have to worry if it get some "hits", or if it see some water.
It does not need to be collectable ,just tell me time and look good. And hard enough so i can work without taking it of.
Those are new watches both.

Al beat me to the punch on the 7750 opinion, so I'll simply add that if I didn't own my Breitling I'd surely own that black & white with read accent Speedy.

I'd go the Calibre 3304 myself, I like the balance, and its a more recent release as well.

I just find one more candinate......pro with 1861 cal.
Manual wind , hesalite and only 30m waterproof , no good for workwatch.
So whichone of those three calibers is the best for daily use?
All watches are new and price is almost same.
Hard choice....🤬

I recently picked up a 3210.52, the sister ship to the one on the right. It has the earlier dial with 24hr markers denoting night and day. Great watch, my favorite omega dial.

If you want one with a sapphire crystal, it's best to buy that model to begin with. I've never tried installing a sapphire crystal on the regular Speedy Pro, but my gut is that it would not work.

Nice choice, as Archer said, the ETA 7750 based 3304 should be a strong workhorse for your daily wearer.
