Spotted two speedmasters so I thought I’d share with you all. 2F4699B4-6FB7-4D06-A088-B90973EC3A84.png 1AA478D7-00E6-41D0-BAFB-4BAA4E0BD968.png 9B2356BF-76CC-4634-955C-C462C8584B58.png 891BE9ED-3688-4081-9435-8ABE4F02AF8B.jpeg

Very cool. Makes me wonder if they use the same watch and velcro that come with the 2018 kit or do they have special versions. (Sorry if this is a ::facepalm1:: question).

That is interesting.. I haven't been paying much attention to what the astronauts have been wearing, but I thought it has been X-33's for quite some time. Good to see the old Moonwatch getting some love.

Sounds like the 2 launched yesterday decided they did not want to go into space after all.

These guys must think more about the luck they have to still be alive than to their speedmasters!!

The one in the box is too short.

I know every shot of Russians on launch and landings they have the Speedy. Not always seen on Americans though.

They still use speedmasters to this day in space?

That's incredible, I thought they were phased out for the X-33 or some sort of modern alternative.

    Great photos by the way.

Here is one during an EVA just a couple of months ago...

    Definitely still being used.

Russians seem to still use them for all EVA’s. The US has not for awhile. As noted earlier for launch and landings all Russians and most Americans wear it.

Inside the station you have a larger mix of pieces worn. From the x-33 to Timex and Russians wore Fortis B32’s for awhile.

AFAIK only the Speedy is used for EVA. The fortis might have been used though.

If anyone has any other recent pictures of speedys in space I’d love to see them.

Here is one of the best wrist shots I've seen a cosmonaut take. I can't recall which EVA it was but it was within the last year I believe.

So cool. It’s great they’re actually still used in space. Love that.

So do their watches still count as "flown in space" if they come up for sale? ;)

They better not, as they did not reach space.

Those watches could have been on previous space flights.
