    This may be a dumb noobie question but I've been comparing sizes and am confused.com

    Apart from the reduced version (38mm?) are all the other larger versions 42mm regardless of whether they are hesalite or sapphire?

    It depends on the model. The difference is essentially in the inclusion or exclusion if crown guards. "Straight lug" speedmasters don't include crown guards, and therefore the case is measured by it's diameter, excluding the crown and pushers as seen below:

    Compared to "twisted lug" speedmasters, where the update to the case bumps up the previous measurement by a few millimeters:

    Otherwise, the diameter of the dial and bezel are generally the same across moonwatch models.

    Add in the 44.25mm model
    The Aventurine dial was certainly a 'professional' model

    I am pretty sure the xSOTMs and newer racing-dialed Speedmasters are typically 44mm. The 'regular' Speedmaster Pro is 42 mm,
