    Hi all

I purchased a 3570.50.00 from the Omega Boutique on Regent Street in London in February this year. Recently it has started to run fast; almost 10 seconds a minute fast. I haven't been able to find an Omega Boutique on the website finder that I could take it to and when trying to use the official website's "contact us" option the drop down is infuriatingly inoperative.

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong with my SMP (I'm curious more than anything else..) and suggest somewhere I could take it in Barcelona for a warranty repair?

    Thanks in advance

    Cameron

I think it is probably magnitized. Any watchmaker can attempt to demagnitize it in 5 minutes.

10 seconds fast per minute or erratic behavior could me magnetization. Like mentioned above, "any" watchmaker can pass it over a degaussing device or you can purchase one yourself and give it a try quite cheaply. They are only about $20-30.

I'm overseas and my Speedy started running 30spd fast. I suspected it was magnetised so bought a cheap demagnetiser from Amazon for $15 and it worked a treat!

    Thanks everyone.

I took it to a local non omega specialist and they're demagnetising it tomorrow, so fingers crossed :) I now know to keep it well away from the ipad...

Its back and working. I got a half English half Catalan explanation about a spring and I'm a few euros lighter, but it appears to be keeping excellent time and I can now try out some of the nato straps I've had sitting around :)

Yep. That was probably it then. Don't understand why took them a day to do it but that's fine as long as you were ok with it. If the balance spring was magnetized it could have been fixed by just holding it above the degaussing device for about 5 seconds while pulling it away from the device. Glad it turned out to be something simple! Good luck in the future!

Thanks! Really enjoying the military green zulu strap I got for it. Not the best picture but here it is. Feels great having it back. Can't imagine ever selling this one.
