Hello again. I have been offered this Speedy for significantly less than asking.

Any thoughts to it originality?

To me the rear cover and maybe the rotor look like replacements?

All depends what you're willing to pay for what is effectively a speedy reduced. These commonly go for 1000-1200. The dial certainly might be more collectible and add some value.

I'm not sure about the case back. Most reduced models have the hippocampus snap back. I have seen this back style before but cannot comment whether it is correct for this reference or not.

Not a comment on whether the back on the subject watch is correct or not. I suppose we might have a better idea if we could the the information inside the case back, including the reference number. What is there about the rotor that suggests to you that it might be a replacement? It looks okay to me. I have included a shot of the back of my Speedmaster reduced. Chances are there is more that one correct back for a Speedmaster reduced case?

 

Bit more googling... Looks like some early reduced Speedmasters used this case back.

There are also 2 types of rotor used from what I can see.

As others have said, the price is on the high end for one of these - unless you're 100% in love with this particular one, I'd reccomend shopping around.

Rotor and case back are 100% original, I have the same watch and it has exactly the same.

 

If the seller has dropped to $1500, for a full set, that's not a bad price at all.

 

Its a great price around here and its a nice watch !
