I'm considering purchasing this Speedmaster, but I fear it may be a redial or frankenwatch. Your opinions? Thanks!

I think you are going to get a lot of replies asking for more photos so we can help you out more. Specifically movement and case back shots.

I don't have any of the movement. But I do have one of the back.

There is a difference between a redial and a Franken watch.

Sorry I should clarify, the real meat is in the inside of the case back.

I know what you mean. I wish I had a photo of the movement.

Is the seller refusing to give you a photo? That’s never a good sign.

Just limited time today. I'm sure it won't be a problem tomorrow.

Or, the guy is the original owner who is trying to sell the watch on his own and doesn't have the proper tools to open the watch up and wouldn't even know how if he did own those tools.

Pics look honest, mismatched end links may indicate it hasn't been prepped. I'm intrigued.

    Is this a local sale?

Very true. Didn’t mean to sound too cynical but there are a lot of scams on the internet these days. I agree with the above though, definitely follow up on it.

It is a local sale. I think the seller is the second owner. He is a watch guy, so opening it up shouldn't be an issue. We just had limited today.

    What do you mean "prepped"?

I appreciate you being cynical. I'm nervous because it will be my first vintage Omega. I don't want to overpay for it. I'm skeptical because the price seems very fair.

Has he seller at least told you what reference it's meant to be? It could be any one of 3 or 4 different ones, which each have varying values.

    What's the asking?

I should have been more clear. The first one I've bought used. The one I have has aged on my wrist from a dealer.

He didn't know the reference. I'm hoping to narrow it down before I return.
