Hi, I've just bought s speedmaster racing on a bracket strap. I'm thinking of buying a leather strap but I'm not sure whether I need a 20mm or 18mm width? I realise it's really basic but as I say, I'm really new. I also don't fancy paying the omega prices so any suggestions of where to pick up a compatible leather straps. Cheers
If it's the Racing co-ax movement and cloux de Paris subdials, I'm quite sure it's 20mm you need. I believe the bracelet is the same as on the Speedy Pro. As for where to buy leather straps, try searching for Hirsch straps. Lots of designs, not expensive and have lots of good reviews. There are many other brands but I'm new to this game myself, and haven't ventured past the bracelt that came with my watch...yet. EDIT: I presume from your username that you're a Yorkshireman (as am I). Watchobsession.co.uk have Hirsch, Omega and may other straps that should be suitable.
