Hi everyone.
I am a long time admirer and owner of Omega watches. Most are vintage Seamasters, but I have had a couple of newer Aqua Terras as well, which are great watches. My latest is a Speedmaster Racing 3552.59, which has a carbon fiber dial. I love this watch. Is anyone here familiar with this model? Basically it is an upgraded Speedy Professional, with a date, sapphire crystal and different looking dial. 42mm case AND white hands. A no brainer to me to get this one, both as a present to myself and as an investment, but wanted to ask opinions from a more experienced group about this: will it increase in value?
Many thanks. Greg

Hey Greg,
Usually the answer you'll get here is buy what you like and don't expect it to increase in value; if it does, treat it as a side-bonus.
I am in this camp and I agree with this statement too.
On the 3552.69, I wouldn't say it's a straight-upgrade speedy pro. Although the case proportions look similar, it has a different movement, with which comes a really ugly date window.
Perhaps, if enough people like it, there might be a chance of a price increase. But I would say if you were to try to sell a speedy pro and this 3552.69 at the same time, the speedy pro will sell quicker.

I never a buy a watch eyeing investment potential. That being said, the lowest priced pre-owned Speedmasters all seem to be ref's with date complications, which leads me to believe that Speedy's with date complication have the least opportunity for investment potential. Enjoy the watch, wear it it well!

Exception made for the ref. 376.0822, called Holy Grail...
IMHO
