I don't know much about the Speedmaster racing line but I came across this model that looks pretty neat. Can anyone give me their opinion and take on this model? I did a search on the Forum but I found nothing.
Which model? They replaced the speedy dates and use a 7750 based movements if your talking about the ones I think you are. There has been at least 2 completely different racing lines... one is current.
We all love pictures This is a nice looking 40mm automatic watch with a coaxial movement - most on here prefer the classic mechanical 42mm Speedmaster (which doesn’t cost much more) but to each their own. If you’re after a white/silver dial this is probably the cheapest option new. Otherwise check out the 2020 Olympic Speedys as they look great with the white dials. It’s quite a lightweight watch, and suits a small wrist. If you like it, go for it. Have you tried it on? Do this and compare it with others before you choose.
I also prefer the mechanical watch. I have a limited edition speedy last man on the moon. Love the watch but I also love this white dial I was wondering about the 40 mm because my Speedy fits perfectly. This watch would be 2 mm smaller... thanks for the feedback
I’ve got a 40mm Date it’s precursor and I never wear it. Due to the slope on the bezel it wears much smaller then a Pro. I wear plenty of 36mm and smaller watches but it’s just to small. Fits my GF well. They are very similar (the date and racing) I’m not sure if they are the same case or not. The movements are similar but the racing gets co axial. Both are chronometers and based on the 7750. 7.25/.5 wrists.
