I am new to the forum so please delete this if not appropriate question. I am looking at two different Vintage Speedmasters. One is a 105.012 from 1965 and one from 145.012 - 67. I know enough about other vintage brands to get me in trouble but learning about Omega. My question is what is the biggest differences between the two? Both have the 321.

Would one be considered more collectible?

    Thanks for any feedback offered.

Speedmaster101.com should answer your questions. :)

TLDR: not much. The 105 could have narrow T on the Swiss made. Later are all wider. Look where the T’s are aligned on the minute track.

I forget but the Chrono second might be different.

    Differences are minor.
105.012-66 CB case is an anomaly and is desirable.
Pushers are different. For the most part, Hands, crown, Bezel, movement were the same.
The 105.012 was available in 5? different references
    63,64,65, 66hf, 66cb. A few different dials offered. 3 I think
145.012, only 67 EXCEPT for the very rare 145.012-68. Only one dial type

The 105.012-65 was the model used by Aldrin though, so that might make it more collectible from a historical standpoint.

I would just add that most of the 145.012 seen today have the flat chronograph hand vs the spear headed 105.012
Other than that, I'd guess that there is a little bit of a difference from a value standpoint due to "immaterial aspects" (history of the 105.012 & greatest production number of 145.012?)

The 105.012-65 would be the way to go, the CB case is desirable, you should expect to pay a few extra thousand, make sure you get the correct DON bezel, the steel bracelet makes it more valuable but are not necessary.
