Hi all! I'm looking to buy my first Speedy, Model 311.33.42.30.01.001 (super excited). Would be purchase is pre-owned and seller does not have any information regarding prior ownership. I was hoping that I could assess the manufacturing date by way of the serial number; however, so far, the only charts that I have found on web date through 2000, which I do not believe is recent enough in this case. As such, I was hoping some of you "pros" on here may be able to help me estimate a date based on your knowledge and/or collections. The first three digits of the serial number are 872. Any thoughts on what year this was manufactured would be helpful! Also, I have included a few photos from the posting as well in case you see any red flags here. In addition to the leather strap, a steel bracelet, nato and velcro strap is also included.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!!

I purchased mine from a London Omega Store a few months ago and it starts 872 on the serial number. However, I am only sharing information with you I am not sure if this is any indication of time of manufacture. Hope this helps.

Awesome looking watch! I have a Speedmaster 311.33.42.30.01.005 that was bought new in late 2015, also supposedly produced in 2015. Its serial number starts with 778... Just looking at the pics yours looks legit to me. Not one apparent detail is different from the one on my wrist, to my untrained eyes. Check that the serial number is the same on the watch and on the papers (the red Omega warranty card) and that the card is filled out with a dealers stamp. Good luck with the purchase! Such a classic piece.

Seeing that it comes in the Speedmaster box that was only introduced last year ought to give a clue :)

    Congrats on your purchase!
