Speedmaster professional Mk2, possible mainspring requires replacement

Hi all,
I was given my Omega by my parents for my 18th birthday, in 1969. I've had it serviced regularly, although not since 2011, when a major overhaul was completed, at a cost in excess of $1000.
I wear the watch regularly, and it has accompanied me during operations in my flying career as a pilot.

I am now retired and continue to rely on the watch in my part time work as a ground subjects instructor, here in Scotland.

Recently, I have become aware that it requires endless winding. Its always needed a number of turns to wind it up, but now, the winding just goes on and on. I notice there are a few individuals who have has similar problems, and it may be that the watch requires a replacement mainspring.

Have any members of the group any experience of UK companies offering this service? The last time the watch was serviced, I was living in Dubai and used the local agent to send it back to Omega in Switzerland. Not only did they send it back to me with the Seamaster back, it stopwatch stopped working, and it took almost a year to get the watch back in working order. I am therefore disinclined to use Omega in Switzerland in the future. They accepted blame and refunded all costs involved. Overall, I was less than impressed!

Anyone have any experience of possible UK repair operations? Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Brian.

Yeah, don't send that to Omega if you want the parts to remain as original as possible. There are lots of UK servicers out there, but Simon Freese is the one most commonly mentioned.

If it is just a mainspring, any decent watchmaker/servicer should be able to do it.
I got a generic mainspring in my '72 Mark II when I got it two years ago. From Cousins, I believe. The fact that it has been serviced regularly means it should be good generally.

I'm not on the inner island, I'm on D'Ould Sod, so I'm sure someone will come in with recommendations.
Or, there is a relatively recent thread here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-servicing-in-uk.89932/

Send it to Simon Freese or Swiss Time Services for a movement service. That’s a nice looking ‘racing dial’ MKII you have.

+1 for Swiss Time Services, who just serviced my Mark II, and changed only what I wanted changing.
