I had a short call with the seller of this watch. He purchased it from a Omega dealer 1970 during his military service in Switzerland. No box or papers, but an extract from Biel. Last service was done around 2002. At the moment it is at CHF 12500.- , the well known sharks are there....;)

If all original I would pay that price due to extreme rare piece.

    Looks very nice.

The seller states in one of the pics that it is built by using two Speedies.
    860341444_4_1800.jpg
    The yellow box reads:
"Omega Speedmaster, the first watch on the moon in 1969.
I bought this watch at the watch shop in Bülach while serving at the military. I paid 500.- for it because my other watch didn't work anymore and because I needed a Chronograph.

Later I noticed that I've never seen another Speedmaster model like this one.

The "Speedmaster I" had a dial in the colors black and white. The later "Speedmaster II" has the dial in Black-white-yellow with a rectangular case.

This means that the watch I'm selling consists of the case of the Speedmaster I and the dial of the Speedmaster II"

The seller doesn't make it clear what the "Speedmaster I" and "Speedmaster II" means. My guess is that the Speedmaster I is the one which didn't work anymore, the "Speedmaster II" with a rectangular case is the one he bought while serving.
I guess this makes it a Franken? ::confused2::

This makes it sound like he's mistaken the dial for one from a Mark II, which were readily available with a similar dial. Those dials all said "Mark II" below the standard Speedmaster Professional text, and this one doesn't. Looks real to me

That's not a mkii dial. That's a stepped tritium dial.

This has been widely discussed on the VIntage Speedmaster group of facebook! Lovely looking watch, the Swiss seller is in for a nice surprise, it's at £7K already

So what does the extract say exactly. That is not a mkii dial but appears to be a legit racing dial.

That's a very very interesting watch as mine has almost the same serial number (same 2960936X) and was delivered to Switzerland that same day of 1970 !!!

    I can't believe it !!

Very rare Racing Speed 145022-69 ( not 1450022) ......I prefer later bezel on the caliber 861 and it would be better to replace the hands ( but it's the last of thoughts !!! )

    Mark 2 is another watch

With the attention it's getting, I'm sure it'll end up going for a fair (i.e. crazy) price.

I don't know anything about Speedies at all
And the seller doesn't say anything about mark I or mark II at all.
    But he clearly states:
The watch is made by using parts from two different watches.
    Case: from watch number one
    Dial: from watch number 2
It's a fact that this is his statement in his listing.
German is my mother tongue btw. so there was nothing lost in translation here.
