So Philips are selling one of the incredibly rare Mir 365 watches that spent a year aboard the international space station. What’s your guess and the result? $80k seems about right to me.
Far less I think, though I won’t venture a guess, and am often surprised by suction.. er I mean auction prices. Although “flown” these just don’t have “the right stuff.”
I turned down one of these for about $5k a few years ago. Just thought I'd add that. It had the VHS tape and everything and I counter offered $3.5k.
...which speaks to the larger issues with the bubble that is the watch market right now....a few years ago, $5k for any Speedmaster, other than one actually flown by one of the Apollo members with full provenance, was ridiculous.
I had one and sold it for good money but not close to this amount. 2 years ago one was sold in Australia for 35k if I recall correctly
