i have really taken a shine to the retro design of this watch. Especially the model with the orange hands (327.10.43.50.06.001). I’m seriously considering getting one. One concern I have is with a recent announcement that Omega wanted to get their full range ‘METAS’ cerified - I figure it is only a matter of time that there may be a new model with the updated Calibre. I don’t know of this is a big deal or not in the grand acheme of things. But I’m wondering if (A) they might discontinue the watch to save re-work. Or (B) update it with a ‘master’ spec. I’d be curious what others might think. Granted we have no news from omega so accept it is all pure speculation. I think the current model is what, about 4 or 5 years old? Anyone have one and what are your general views? Thanks.
ditto - I had it on my wrist a couple of months ago and liked it lot I think this model was released in 2014.. I don't have one and can't comment on the good/bad or the ugly of its 3330 movement but I do like this modern orange-hand model a lot more than the Ultraman..
A friend of mine has one, and it looks really cool. I liked it so much I bought the original model from 1969. They seem too busy releasing limited edition Speedmasters, so probably no time to mess with the Mark ii (Or the Mark iii for that matter). They are busy with the 50th anniversary moon landing releases, so my guess the 50th anniversary of the mark ii will pass without fanfare. I hope I am wrong. They missed the 50th anniversary of the Gemini 4 with a LE release...so not the first 50th they have missed. The 50th for the Mark iii is in 2021, so fingers crossed.
Cant imagine they will do anything with the mk2. Bought mine at Gatwick last year with 20% discount. Don't think it's been the big seller they wanted. But was the original mk2? Like mine. But of a lump on the wrist though. Not something to wear with a shirt. Great lume though.
I am wearing my Mark II with great pleasure and it is a very rare watch - haven´t seen anybody else wearing a Mark II in the wild. Movement is as accurate as the 9300 or 9900 movements. Night shot Also think that the price is very attractive especially with a good discount.
A new Mark III. I would love that. Not sure about the Mark II, if you are at all concerned I don't see why waiting would be an issue. I don't see them doing an updated Speedy and a Mark II in the same year.
Mk Mk2 isn't a fantastic seller( might be worth a bit in 40 years?). Not sure then that they'd do a new mk3 then. So highly unlikely (I.e.never) to do a new mk4!!
I commented on this yesterday and I've been looking at Mark II's for the last 48 hours. The orange dial really sings to me. I want the standard but that orange is just so perfect.
