Speedmaster Mark II

I recently purchased a speedmaster mark II from a well known jewellery on the south coast.
The watch had undergone a major service and light restoration before I purchased it. The photographs of the watch showed the paperwork and old parts which were many . The negotiated price was within my budget and deal done. Prompt delivery and paperwork , but no parts. Was told the parts had been mislaid. (very strange) and supposedly after lots of searching under no circumstances could they be found. Not to worry although my review will reflect events.
Reading the service paperwork, it states manual winding in one direction only. My speedmaster professional doesn't say anything about winding watch in one direction only. All and any comments please.

One direction is the only way you can wind the watch or is it setting the time in only one direction that is meant? It is possible to set the time either way, though some get very pedantic about only setting the time clockwise, I myself don't think it matters much either way, but having said that, now watch 'em come out of the woodwork to criticise me for saying that..... Meh

Parts are meaningless in this case, you have a pic of them. It's a manual wind watch, of course it only winds in one direction. I see no issues.

Depends, was it dial & hands? If not I totally agree with the above, no worries about internals/pushers etc in a MKII (IMO)

I would be disappointed not to get them nonetheless, but outside of the dial I wouldn’t care too much in the end.

I agree, if the dial and hands were replaced and shown in the pic I would want them back, the rest of the stuff is just a bag of parts.

I would wager the hands have been replaced, as the hour and minute hands on the OP’s watch look like they belong on a mkiv Speedmaster.

Yes, for sure the wrong hands. Given that the work was not likely done by Omega - I would be surprised if they used the wrong hands as the proper ones are available.

Hi Archer, the paperwork outlining the service comes from Omega UK.
