Get the Telestop (145.037) back form full service at Omega factory today, was worth to wait , overhauls, case refinish , new glass, of course ( new hands , new pushers ) where changed this morning at the OB to the old original parts. An 1159 band circle 11 with screws complete the watch, now waiting the Extract of the Archives as there is only about 50 pieces of that model. Now Enjoy it
Lovely example , The Mk11s are still very underrated watches . But their day will come & yours will be THE one to have .
At the end some luck to find it on EBay , find spare parts and a good contact at Omega to keep it original with no service parts, but did it.
Supercool. Did Omega also sell the remote control cable, or did it use some generic variant? Either way, would be a nice companion piece for your watch.
Looks great! Do you have a before photo of the case? I have a Mark II racing dial and was considering refinishing the case. But I'm not convinced if I want to alter the originality of it. Enjoy the watch!
The remote control is a myth or at least never produced, from a fellow member of the OF that gave is watch to the Oméga Museum and the remote control that was reverse engineered in SA , the model in the museum is not an Original one , but looks like no one as one.
Refreshing the case is always the same , I hate patina outside , inside ok ( hands, dial) but outside when is scratched or faded I don’t like it , of course if you use your watch as an hammer the refreshing could be difficult , for that reason when I buy a watch the case state is important to me because I want it like it was out of factory , but the patina inside, and the movement serviced Now my telestop is like my racing
These don't come p for sale very often. How much do they do for? Is there really a premium for the Telestop option?
Whilst they are rare I do not think there is currently much of a premium on the Telestop over standard. Possibly they are still under the radar as so little is known about their actual purpose. They do come up for sale, I was lucky enough to get mine from a seller who had it listed and priced as a standard MKii, it is currently being serviced and fitted with the correct pushers.
Thanks, I'm considering one that is priced right (somewhat below what is asked for a normal MK2), it has the correct pushers and bracelet, and the caseback is engraved correctly with the 145 037 number. My only concern is the serial number since it's a 39180xxx. Most of the 037s I've seen are 32xx... But there are some sites that list the 39185xxx as the last recorded serial number for a 1976 861 caliber. An Archive Extract would solve the issue, but I believe it takes a few weeks...
As you say without an extract you cannot be sure on the movement being original to the watch but it obviously is the right movement for this watch. Mine was a little under the going Mkii rate without Telestop pushers so if yours has the correct case, pushers and a bracelet it sounds like an ok risk to me. Cheers.
