Depends what the problem with the crown is... but looking at the state of the caseback gloop (degraded gasket), it's going to need a new set of seals too... and whilst you're at it, a service. Add $400-$600 to the cost of buying depending on where you are in the world. As to the price - these sell between £1500 and £2500 on ebay here in the U.K., the top of that range being the very good racing dial MK2s, on bracelet, the bottom being head only which is essentially what you have. You'll want to knock your friend down on price to cover the service costs.

Do they really sell at £2500?! Christ. I passed on a decent mk2 last year at £600. Not a racing dial though. I guess all prices are being dragged up at the minute.
I've seen a couple go at that price - to be fair both were original tritium racing dials without fade, with matched hands - they looked too good to wear... The racing dial seems to add a £150-£300 premium depending on how badly people want the watch/how greedy the seller is.
That's really odd. It seems the quotes for mark ii's here and what I can see on eBay differ greatly. They seem to be going in the 1500cad or 2000cad with bracelet range on the bay, which is no where near £2500 which is ~4000cad. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
