Speedmaster Mark II: odd serial number

Gentlemen

Looking into chrono24 I found a Mark II that struck me as odd.

The reason is that the movement serial is in the 27M range, which would point to 1968 (https://est1897.co.uk/omega-serial-numbers-how-old-is-your-omega-watch), but the Mark II was introduced in 1969.

The lowest movement serial I've found so far for a Mark II was in the 28M range.

Could this be a really early Mark II or was the caliber replaced?

model to deliver in 1969 and probably manufacture in 1968 (also with old parts stock)

I would order an Extract of the Archives to be sure about that. I have made some sad experience with a Speedy which had a movement # in the 27M range. After receiving the extract I recognized that the movement originally was inside a De Ville - so somebody switched the cal. 861 to increase profit. Sold it then with more than 25% loss and decided to buy one here. Part of my learning process ...
