    I just wonder.
Can I buy a new Speedmaster Pro in a normal wooden box, not this giant monster full of unusable (for me) items? I hate NATO straps, do not need a magnifier and want standard size box.
I see it as a trick to inflate the price.
    No way around?

If you require new, then buy it with all the extras then sell the box and pieces on Ebay.

Exactly that. In fact, it's a no-brainer to buy the big box edition even if you don't want it. You can easily get £400 for the complete box with all the gubbins. The NATO strap alone retails at about £175. It's like a cash-back option on the whole purchase.

Having said that, I love the big box. Don't know how I've managed without an astronaut strap and a loupe... :whistling:

Hopefully by 2019 our beloved Speedmaster will come in a normal size box... not a shoe size box :cautious:

Doubtful. More likely is that the Apollo XI 50th Anniversary LE will come in a full size replica of the Lunar Module.

I would trade you the regular, big wood box set that came with my Speedmaster moonphase for your giant monster Moonwatch box with all goodies in a heartbeat! [emoji2]

Good idea but I'd prefer to get this money as a discount.

I, for one, think all the doo-dads are really cool. If I was in the market, I'd insist on getting all this stuff.

Who was the guy who bought one from Jomashop a few weeks ago and didn't get the proper big box? I bet if you tracked him down he'd be interested in a box-swap with you.

@Kringkily would be my pick for finding a pre-suitcase speedmaster ;)

The reference of the previous model is 3570.50.00. It is not only the case what changes on the new versus old
model; older model use older bracelet, which has pins and tubes while the newer model has the new bracelet with screws on the removable links

Ugh, I can't stand this luxury trend. All it does is take more room from the closet, and we can't throw the darn things away, because people think they somehow add value.

This is how it should be done. Compact and utilitarian, like the Speedmaster itself.

I agree with you and was looking for a mint or unworn 3570.50. I believe it is the previous Speedmaster Pro series and came packaged the way you, and I, want The only problem is they seem to be priced comparably to the current 311.005 but without all the stuff.

I'm on the list for a 60th Speedy at my AD, but if for some reason I don't get it I will probably buy a new Speedy Pro since the 3570.50 costs almost as much. You can always sell the stuff you don't want as has been already suggested.

Just before I caught the vintage bug, I got the big black goodie box when I bought a new sapphire sandwich in 2014. I use the Omega spring bar removal tool all the time. It is perfectly sized to fit all Omega end links back to the #6 of the 50's and 60's.

Rumour has it that the new building in Bienne was set up just to store those large boxes :D

Yeah, maybe someday we'll simply be buying Omega luggage that comes with a free Speedmaster!
