I have a Speedmaster mark II like to repaint the hands on . They are really ugly . Someone before me have touched them up using some white paint . I wonder what kind of paint would i use . Would white Humbrol model paint do . Or should i spray them with acrylic paint or waterbased color . I like to paint them with a little patina to match the dial .

If you want to add a little patina ford diamond White is a grey ish kind of white but I'm wondering how much the weight of paint affects the accuracy.

depending upon where you are many of the dial refinishing guys (and watch repair organisations) can do "pre-aged" lume and paint to a standard to match the dial.

you just have to ask your watch guy.
