Hi all,

Just thought I'd post a couple of pics to convey my excitement at finally acquiring a 'Holy Grail' Speedmaster 376.0822.
Along with it came a very nice 'TV' screen Speedmaster 176.0014.
As far as I can tell from my research, amazingly - the grail appears to be totally correct !
The dial, hands and bezel etc. seem to original - quite unusual with most of these having had service replacements somewhere along the line.
The TV screen Speedy has the wrong hands (all white). Nonetheless, I personally think it looks pretty good.
Both use the same Omega 1045 movement (Lemania 5100) - but couldn't be more different.
Anyway - here are the pics.

That Maddox Grail looks killer! Not often these have such nice dials.

 

Absolutely love the TV screen speedy! I think the white hands suit it very well.

I think the dial is as good as they get - it’s virtually perfect.
Any marks seen in the pics are on the crystal - the dial is unblemished without a hint of deteriorating lume. Apparently this is an known issue with the 1st series dials (with concentric circled sub dials).
I’m a very happy chap !

 

Congratulations- both are very nice! I’ve always liked the TV, it has a proper 70s vibe and should be worn Magnum PI style, with a moustache and hairy chest...

And just in case no one else has said it, dibs on the Grail!

 

In answer to a couple of queries I've had about the 'Grail' dial.
Just confirming that it is indeed an original dial (with concentric circles on the sub dials) - in top condition.

I’m not sure whether they’ve been polished.
They both have very sharp edges/bevels and have the correct polished and lapped finish in the right places.
However - I’m not expert enough to determine whether they are 100% original case finish.
They look original to me - If they’ve been polished, it’s been done very sympathetically.

Awesome find on the Grail. Congratulations. [EDITED to remove incorrect observation about the minute sweep hand.] Would you mind letting me know by PM where you found it and what it cost? I try to keep a rough idea of their current market value and how it rates next to the values on OmegaHolyGrail.com. Chrono24 had a couple listed for >$15K and >$23K, with full sets of replacement hands (on both, I believe). (Thanks in advance.)
