Something you don't see every day, one of the Japanese Limited Edition "Galaxy Express 999" Speedmaster Pros: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Omega-...248542764?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3a7f94842cPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Seller's feedback being 3 and price being high its not something I'd be buying personally but its still pretty cool and something I've not seen before:
There was one for sale from a Japanese seller a few months back, I dont remember what it went for. $5,200 is pretty expensive for a fancy case back
I agree. I found it hard to justify significant premium for limited edition version of a watch which does not have any difference in dial, case, material or movement.
The problem also is that there are so many more desirable (in my view) editions available that you could get with that money. This seems like a flip watch.
A more realistic price I would say. The same goes for many limited editions, even the Soyuz seems to vary wildly in price.
They aren't that rare. My source in Japan sees them all the time when scanning the used markets. Nice piece for someone who remembers the good old anime.
Another Galaxy Express on ebay...... http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPEEDMASTER...016709664?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item23294c1e20Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
This one at auction when for almost 4000 USD: http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalog.html?action=load&lotid=37&auctionid=270 EDIT: Actually just realised this one in the original post IS EXACTLY the same one that went for almost 4K at antiquorum
Annnd there's another one bid up to 3000 euro already http://www.ebay.de/itm/RAREST-VERY-...rmbanduhren&hash=item1e785b1200#ht_2900wt_899Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I honestly didnt even know this thing existed until recently but now it does appear there's a market for them and they do sell
I love this quirky speedmaster. A great ode to Leiji Matsumoto (who incidentally made some of my favourite Daft Punk videos). When I can afford it, this will be the first Speedy that I get!
