    Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and trying to learn more about speedys. I've been reading around and I see mentions of straight lugs and lyre lugs. I'm not sure what the difference is. Does anyone have pictures they can post or a link they can share explaining the two?

    Thanks
    Mark

Lyre has crown guards and straight lug no crown guards.

There is a lot of individual free form variation even in "named" lug types. Generally "lyre" lugs have an expanded lyre like profile viewed from the side and a greater twist in the lug coming out from the case.

Straight lugs have little, if any, twist and a straight, non expanded profile from the side.

Deciding on these definitions is subjective to some degree unless where defined by the manufacturer.
