Over the years I have jumped on dials when ever they are offered. Quite what I am going to do with them, now that I am firmly in the "Dont change anything" camp, is interesting. I will find a use for them. I am keeping my eye open for a 2911xxxx with a bad dial or Omega service!

Photographing browns is challenging - or rather communicating the colour, to YOU, is challenging as we have the internet between us. So I use a black dial to compare.

The top dial, the black one, was bought from WatchCo when it was still in Australia, and it was a NOS 321 Service Dial. Now I sent it to be re lumed, primarily to see how I liked it - I do. Again this would be a step up from the Omega service dial.

The others are brown Cal 861 Dials.

In my opinion these are worth a fortune now, and one might be worth double the other. They are not re lumed, the one on the left is just very good.

Anyone else have some loose dials lying around?

Slightly off topic I know since this one is still mounted but has anyone here seen one of these before? Long indices stepped dial with painted logo, the step isn't evident in the pic below but it is there. It came to me on a 145.012-68 which possibly had a dial swap in the early 1970s. This style is alluded to briefly in MWO but they say they have only seen one so haven't given it a type code. It has been suggested to me by someone at STS that it may have been a short lived service part back when the painted logos were first introduced

Mmm, don't suppose anyone is giving away a dial for a 2998-6?

as we're on dials and 2998s, anyone ever heard about dials during the 2998 era having no SWISS MADE script, I read somewhere another dial maker was employed briefly by Omega and only small numbers were made, MWO doesn't mention it!

The anecdote sounds like we are getting into vintage Rolex territory :whistling:
