    Hello all,

A question that I have for a long time now, can we know exactly the date of production of a vintage Speedmaster?
In my cas, I own a 145.012-67SP, on the extract I read :
    Production : May 14, 1968
I guess it's the date of the warranty validation no?

No, I'm pretty sure that's the date the watch was assembled.

The year in the reference (“67”) does not refer to the year of production of your specific watch, but to the first year of production for this sub-reference.

I believe the archive date comes from the date the watch was assembled and has nothing to do with the date it was sold.

Ah, sorry. Yes, that’s the date of assembly, not the date it was sold.

Some people order the extract just to know the date of assembly, but there is also other nice information in most cases like what bracelet it was assembled with and the country where it was shipped to. :)
