Theoretically the ceramic bezel could be polished much smoother than steel, and could be used to be created a more "perfect" water seal and hydrophobic surface...

I haven't looked into this in great detail, but the case back on these is a snap on system, which can be a limiting factor. Also, the pusher system is different on these than on a steel case, so that could be a contributor.
But it's not really a dive watch, so 50m should be plenty...

·I am going to wear my DSOTM with this rubber combo for coming September Thailand trip again 😀.. The DSOTM is so understated that I have no problem walking midnight in bangkok street..
Firstly, what a great photo! Secondly, I now live in Bangkok and never worry about wearing any of my watches at any time. Keep an eye out for Daytona's here. They seem very popular. If you're not already aware, Bangkok is a great place to buy watches as well. I got a 3rd off a Chopard and recently 50% on a Bremont. Omega only have three outlets in Thailand, all boutiques, all in Bangkok (at Siam Paragon, Central Embassy & Emporium shopping Malls). Max. discount is 3% (said with a wink)!

Scratches, damage, including on the strap (which I thought could be vulnerable to moisture on the soft leather inside but seems to be quite resistant)... All that feedback from long time users like you is really useful.
No damage at all and it has taken some punishment. Compared it to a new one a couple of months back in one of the Omega boutiques in Bangkok and the only way to tell the difference, dial up, was that one had a tag on it.
On saying that, the chrono seconds hand, when in the 12 o'clock position now settles perceptibly to the left of centre. This I believe, was an issue with some of the original batch as it's previously been discussed here and elsewhere by owners. Early on I noticed mine was a fraction out and took it in to one of the boutiques here and they stated it was within normal parameters and truth be told I wasn't that bothered. However, I noticed the other day that it has edged further to the left (according to my eyes). There's also a swatch repair centre here in Bangkok where you can just walk in to get your watch fixed. I'm in no rush, but will take it there rather than via a boutique and ask for it to be corrected.

Very interesting feedback. That's the main strenght of the material, after all. quite some punishment eh? 😁

I'm not sure what is the acceptable deviation for 9300. I think mine is fully centered (or almost) but I've started having the chrono running all the time. Never stop it now unless I really need to time something.
I realized I like looking at the red needle moving, it gives an interesting sense of time flowing, much more obvious than with the seconds subdial. According to the WatchTime test this also reduces the gain a bit (+2.3s/day to +2.2s, if I remember correctly) so that is a bonus. 😁
Let us know what they say regarding that adjustment tho.

Agree, I got better offered price for DSOTM at Suvarnabhumi Airport compared to bangkok shopping mall, but still far expensive than the price i bought in Lisbon, Portugal.. Great to know bangkok is a safe place of wearing expensive watch, love the food and culture.. 👍

·Hi, I bought mine at boutique dos relogios plus art avenida. It was the best offer I got throughout my Portugal & Spain trip. The salesperson provide excellent service compared to their neighborhood boutique along that avenue.. Before this I did survey the price in Bangkok, Singapore & Malaysia.. Malaysia currently has weak currency for foreigner to shop watch..
Wow, not sure where you live, but if you went on vacation that's an amazingly nice present to buy on a trip 👍
Speaking of which, I love how it's so non-metallic that I just wear it through the airport metal detector.

That's a nice bit of info that is good to know! Going through airport security has always been tricky. Don't like taking my watches- off - trying to avoid them getting damaged!

You should get some more photos with the Solar Impulse rubber strap here. Seems people like the look and summer is starting to get hot. 😁

·Surprised myself by liking that strap - not the sort of material I would previously have considered. However, this reinforces the point that a Speedy looks great on nearly every kind of strap available - and, to my taste, looks at its least brilliant on the standard type of bracelets.
