First post here after lurking occasionally. I've just recently started really digging into the threads to try to learn more.

Would a Speedmaster 145.022, 4822xxxx definitely have the Omega symbol on the original crystal? If it doesn't, does that just mean it's a replacement crystal?

There is quite a few OF expats who are currently in Dubai.

 

I have a mid 80s 145022 in my collection and it has no logo on the crystal... MWO observed that some 80s watches had crystals without logos... my watch was bought in auction in a very dirty condition with extremely beat up crystal. I'm confident the crystal is original without the logo. Anyone else seen this?

I had an early 80s piece with the symbol and a later 80s piece without the symbol. I bought the latter off this forum and the seller didn’t know for sure, but I didn’t have any reason to believe it was not original.

Speedmaster replacement crystals aren’t going to break the bank if you want to replace it with a symboled crystal.

Nope - not the right crystal for his watch - should be a 063PW5139

Will be more than $69 now...crystal prices nearly tripled from Omega last year, so $69 would be a bargain, and Otto Frei are certainly not known for their bargains...

No - they do

 

At least the original ones. There are 3rd party crystals without a logo.

 

I too am a former Montgomery County guy living in Dubai.

 

I don use fake parts, so I was referring to genuine crystals.
