Hi guys. Was wondering what peoples priority list is when they search for a Speedmaster. So basically what order for you does each characteristic go in for whichever reference you're looking for. For example I tend to look at:
1. Dial
2. Bezel
3. Hands
4. Case (including lugs)
5. Movement
6. Caseback
7. Crown
8. Bracelet/End links
9. Crystal

You left out pushers.

1. Dial
2. Caseback
3. Movement
4. Hands
5. Pushers
6. Bezel
7. Case (including lugs)
8. Crown
9. Bracelet/End links
10. Crystal

Bezels can be changed easily.

My only caveat is that they can be changed indeed at great cost on the early models, but i like this list. Frankly 1-7 are pretty much a mandatory package deal.

Most of those on the list are mandatory but it's got to be decided on an individual case by case basis taking into account things like parts scarcity. Original box and papers are important for some collectors, not significant for others. I'd put them near the bottom of the list.

That’s true. The list would be different for a 2915. Bezel might even be 3 then. Or 2! 😲

It helps if 1-9 all belong together.
Yes, yes. The preface. If it doesn’t look like it all belongs together, then I don’t get to 1.

for me #1 is price. I can forgive most anything on that list otherwise, as most can be upgraded/replaced if there's a lot of room $-wise. I hate paying all the money for a watch. I like finding treasure and diamonds in the rough.
